Winsome Edwards
President and Founder

Winsome Edwards is a born-again Christian.  She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior as a teenager and began preaching and teaching in the Pentecostal City Mission Church, London England.  She migrated to Los Angeles, California, married to Everad Edwards and they have been blessed with a daughter, Angelique.

Winsome attended Bethany Bible College in Los Angeles and transferred her units to Faith Theological Seminary where she graduated in June 2007 with a BA Degree in Theology.

She was ordained a Light Brigade (Evangelist) in the Pentecostal City Mission Church, Los Angeles in 1998.  With the leading of God’s hands on her life, she began a Convalescent Home Ministry, where she served with other members of the church for five years.  She continued to work in the service of the Lord and then opened a prison ministry and served for a number of years.

Winsome teaches discipleship and sanctification classes at her Church. She has a heart for evangelism and, as an instrument of the Lord, many people have accepted the Lord Jesus as their Savior and have been water baptized. She launched a Mall Ministry at the Crenshaw Mall, Los Angeles, and serves there one Saturday each month by giving out tracks and offers prayers to passers-by. She ministers at other churches within the body of her church and others which includes, New York, England, and Jamaica.

On December 18, 2016, Winsome was promoted to the office of Reverend in her Church and will continue to minister by preaching and teaching God's Word and reaching out to lost souls, wherever that may take her.

Winsome started "Just Because Women" in July 2013.

Mary Fletcher

In Loving Memory

Committee Member

Mary was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.  At the age of two she relocated with family to Oakland, California.  She was educated in the Oakland public schools but earned her degree from Cal State Dominguez Hill, California.
Mary worked for the City of Los Angeles for 32 years.  During which time she worked her way up to being a Supervisor. Her final position was Personnel Director III from which she retired. She was married to Edward Fletcher and with that union had two children, Eric and Michael. Mary worked in many support groups, and taught Religious Education to the youth at St. Bernadette Catholic Parish where she was a member. She was strong in her faith in God and was most instrumental to Just Because Women. She became a member of the group in winter 2015 and came on board with much vigor and enthusiasm and brought along her managerial skills which helped to enhance the group. Mary worked tireless in every activity. Much to our dismay ill health led her to be housebound and sadly Mary went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2020.
