Charlesetta (Hopkins) Kessee
is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas; however, she relocated to Los Angeles as a teen to attend LACC and later Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, where she studied Religion and Ministerial Counseling.
After years of working in ministry with her husband God recently opened a door for Charlee to return to Faith Evangelical Seminary, Tacoma, Washington, pursuing studies in Theology.
She is an active member of the Bethany Baptist Church of West Los Angels.
Prayer is the central focus of Charlee’s ministry and as a result, several years ago the Lord guided her in creating the workshop entitled: Who Stole My Quiet Time?”
Just Because Women Conference on 20th May, 2017 held at Grace Vargas Senior Center, 1411 S Riverside Ave, Rialto, CA 92376 was a tremendous success. The presence of the Holy Spirit was evident. The Just Because Women members worked in unity allowing God to be at the center of the event and because of that the guests gave nothing but praise.
Guest speakers were Lorna Bailey from London and Carolee Baker from Atlanta. Charlee Kessee, keynote speaker. Charlee ignited the audience with her skit, presentation and workshop on Prayer Deficit Disorder (PDD). Her workshop entitled “Who Stole My Quiet Time?” was well received by the audience. Charlee is married to Dr. L.A. Kessee, Senior Pastor of Bethany; and together they enjoy four talented sons, one beautiful daughter, one beautiful daughter-in-law, one handsome son-in-law and twelve gorgeous grandkids.
Lorna Bailey is a Jamaican born from the parish of Clarendon. She migrated to the UK at the age of eleven. Lorna is the oldest of five children.
Lorna graduated from Imperial college, London then worked as a Research Assistant Biochemistry. After further studies she branched off in the field of Sleep Medicine where she worked for 40 years and is now retired.
Lorna is an ordained minister in the Pentecostal City Mission Church, London, England and is currently serving as the Church Treasurer.

Carolee Baker surrendered her life to the Lord in her early teens and have been serving the Lord faithfully over the years. Her passion is to minister to young people.

Carolee spent many years leading and mentoring the various youth groups and choirs in the church.
Carolee now resides in Atlanta, Georgia and is an active member of the church she attends.

Speaker: Sis Gloria Malvern
Sis Gloria was born in Texas and migrated to Los Angeles in her early teens. She graduated from Bethany Christian Bible College, and is an active member of the teaching staff. Sis Gloria is a member of Greater Liberty Baptist Church. She is a licensed Evangelist, a member of the ministerial staff, Mission Society, a Sunday School Teacher for adults, and an active member of ‘Just Because Women.’ Most importantly, Sis Gloria is a Christian with a heart for God and she seeks every opportunity to serve God by serving others.
Sis Gloria spoke on the importance of ‘fellowship’ and quoted from the song “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.’
At the conclusion of her inspirational exaltation she encouraged the women to focus on Philippians 4:4-8.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
