Looking Back to move Forward

So, I turned around and guess what? 2021 is now history and we are now in 2022. Did we come through this year by ourselves? Absolutely not! What are some of the things that we have come through?  Each year had its challenges, but 2021 seemed to be like none other.  The COVID-19 pandemic tore through the world like a tornado. It caused severe illnesses and bring about thousands if not millions of deaths in its path.

The quarantine contributed to anxieties, suicidal thoughts, depression and isolation.  In addition, virtual learning hampered many students’ progresses to further their education.  There have been increased domestic violence and child abuse. The explosion of illegal fireworks caused severe damaged to people’s homes. The increased violence, homelessness, loss of jobs and a shattered economy.  One might say that the world was turned upside down.

Then the devastating wildfires destroyed thousands of homes, caused untold number of fatalities, evacuations, and loss of personal belongings. The tornado that hit Kentucky is one of the most severe on record. It ripped through multiple States leaving a trail of destructions and the deaths of many.

But “Someone” brought the world through these calamities and much more and these calamities are on record for generations to come.  So, as we move forward, we realize that “life” is precious and that it is a gift from God.  With that being said, the sufferings that humanity go through year after year, we can rest assured that the same God who took us through will continue to lead and guide us.

Suppose we set a goal for 2022 to come together as a people and do according to what God’s Word said in the Bible. 2 Chronicles 7:14  14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

It’s a course for the better! If we try to live by these words our lives will result with a myriad of successful opportunities. It’s yours for the asking.  Just waiting for you to choose the one that suits you best. So, lets hold our heads up to see “the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” Psalm 27:13b.
